Ashling McCloy

With 20 years in the world of publishing, Ashling has worked on top glossies, weekly magazines and national newspapers including Red, Elle, Heat, Marie Claire, Reveal and The Telegraph and more recently, to move with the ever-changing digital landscape, she’s also headed up content on emerging fashion start-up companies.
She continues to write for publications (both print and online), and has even worked as a ghost writer, but now spends much of her time advising brands on content and social media strategies and talking on panels advising women in business. In addition, she’s a regular style expert on TV and radio, and now has her own monthly show ‘Accessorize with Ashling’ on QVC.
Ashling started out as a fashion buyer for in her home country of Northern Ireland, and quickly realized a true love for style. In the pursuit of a career in London, she moved over to complete a degree in Fashion Journalism.
Keen to merge her experience in print journalism with television, she went to work behind the scenes at GMTV– gaining invaluable experience that lead to her actually presenting her own fashion segments on morning TV.
She swiftly moved up the ranks in magazines from Fashion Assistant on Celebrity Looks magazine to Junior Writer on Elle Girl; was then head hunted to work on the newly launched Closer magazine where she took on the title of Fashion Editor, until she was approached to become Fashion Director at Reveal magazine.
Ashling has spent many years styling editorial shoots, working with celebrities and models, art directing, editing and creating exciting and relevant fashion content, not to mention sharing her insider style tips in her weekly magazine column. She’s been a regular on GMTV, Daybreak, MTV, Channel 5 and is currently a fashion guest presenter on QVC.
With growing success outside her day job, she embarked on a freelance path – continuous commissions followed from Red, Elle, Marie Claire, Stella and Fabulous magazine. She’s interviewed everyone from Cheryl Cole to Alice Temperley and Milla Jovovich to everyday people transforming their lives.
Constantly aware of moving with the times and loving the challenge of a new launch or a start-up, Ashling McCloy became a consultant Editorial Director for Endource.com, an exciting new platform enabling the customer to buy everything from their favourite magazines. In that time, she also launched her own lifestyle site, triplemelt.co.uk with two colleagues, where she developed her knowledge and understanding of SEO, programming, responsive design and the importance of off-line engagement.
