Ilkka’s career as an entrepreneur started over 20 years ago when he was just 17 years old. After starting his first company he has grown his companies into a corporation, City Family, with more than a hundred employees and customers in over 100 countries.
Lavas has an MSc in Computer Science, an Academic Entrepreneur Degree and an MBA. In 2015 Ilkka and his team became 3rd in Deloitte Fast500 competition for the fastest growing companies, and he and his team have won several other international awards as well.
Ilkka Lavas is passionate about innovation and entrepreneurship. He sees challenges as opportunities to learn something new. Lavas is a positive, hard-working and determined visionary, who utilises internationally renowned processing models that have helped both gigantic corporations and small startups to grow and succeed year after year.
During his career, Ilkka Lavas has seen plenty of entrepreneurial success, but also plenty of challenges. His belief in innovation, trying new things bravely, and positive attitude towards entrepreneurship have driven him forward and inspired him to write about his experiences. Lavas has written four books: ”Intrinsic Entrepreneurship (Luontainen yrittäjyys)” in 2005 and ”Unstoppable Entrepreneurship (Pysäyttämätön yrittäjyys)” in 2013 (English version in 2014), Life Changing Secrets 2016, Lean Startup 2017 and Startup Way – leadership 2019.
